It has been announced that nearly all parts of Hampshire, including Denmead, will enter Tier 4 from Boxing Day. The Tier 4 restrictions mean that members can only play singles, unless playing with your household/bubble. Therefore, our Club Sessions (Club Night & Vets) will not be able to go ahead.
Group coaching for juniors is permitted under Tier 4 and therefore Alan will be looking to resume these sessions from Sunday 27th December with the regular Saturday sessions starting back up on 2nd January. If you attend coaching with Alan he will of course communicate this with you. Unfortunately under Tier 4 restrictions we are unable to deliver adult group coaching but Alan is happy to schedule 1-2-1 lessons if you wish. If you have any questions about coaching please contact Alan on headcoach@denmeadtennis.org.uk.

The Government has announced that parts of Hampshire will move into Tier 4 from 20th December. As Denmead will remain in Tier 2 our club activity will continue as it has been. If you live in a Tier 2 area then you are able to continue to attend Club Sessions and booking courts with groups of no more than 6.
However, those that live in a Tier 4 area (eg Havant & Portsmouth) should not travel into or out of a Tier 4 area, including for playing tennis. This means that those in a Tier 4 area should not attend organised Club Sessions or book courts. Coaching is temporarily suspended as our coach lives in a Tier 4 area. The Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) has produced a grid outlining what is permissible in each Tier. This can be read here The Government has announced that parts of Hampshire will move into Tier 3 from 19th December. As Denmead will remain in Tier 2 all of our coaching sessions and club activity will continue as it has been. If you live in a Tier 2 area then you are able to continue to attend Club Sessions, Coaching (both juniors and adults) and booking courts with groups of no more than 6.
However, for those that live in a Tier 3 area (eg Havant), unfortunately it is advised that you do not travel into or out of a tier 3 area, including for playing tennis, unless this is necessary to enable individual exercise (or exercise for people from the same household or support bubble). This therefore means that those in a Tier 3 area should not attend organised Club Sessions or Adult Coaching. The current LTA guidance does permit U18s to continue participating in organised coaching sessions, so your children can continue to attend Alan's group coaching. If there is anything you're unsure on we'd recommend reading the LTA Guidance for Players (sub-heading 'Travel'). |
