Following the Prime Minister's announcement on Monday evening (23 March), we will unfortunately now also be closing the tennis courts from any use. We are following advice from the Government which states the closure of 'communal places within parks, such as playgrounds, sports courts and outdoor gyms'.
We really appreciate all of the continued support from our members and players at Denmead Tennis Club. As you will be aware, membership renewals are due on 1st April and therefore the committee will postpone renewals until members are able to use the courts again. We will of course continue to communicate with you via email and our social media channels. Thanks again & take care. Denmead Tennis Club

Following the Government's announcement on Friday 20 March we have suspended all group mix-in and coaching activities. Court booking and 1:1 and 1:2 coaching will still be available but the clubhouse will be out of bounds. A newsletter has been sent to all members and can be read here
The following is an extract from a newsletter sent to all members:-
'Following guidance from the Government and the LTA, we have been specifically advised that tennis is in fact one of the best examples of social distancing in practice, and so should be encouraged as long as the guidance permits. Tennis is also specifically identified as currently being a sport that is OK to play....' Therefore we will continue with current activities albeit with adequate precautions as is outlined in the newsletter which can be read here There will be a committee meeting on Monday 23rd March and a further update will appear then. |
